Internet Scrapbook No.5

1. Let's take a peek inside some of the world's most beautiful libraries...

Bibliotèque Nationale de France, Paris

If Brighton library looked like this, I'd wave goodbye to my little clubhouse (dining table), bid farewell to the patrons at my local cafe and set up camp in one of these
amazing spaces like a shot. These photos taken inside some of the world's most beautiful libraries are all part of a series started by Brooklyn-based photographer, Frank Bohbot, called House of Books, started in 2012. So far, he's travelled around Europe, with plans to go further afield.

Biblioteca Angelica, Rome

Biblioteca Vallicelliana, Rome

Bibliothèque Mazarine, Paris

Bibliothèque du Sénat, Paris

Biblioteque Interuniversitaire de la Sorbonne, Paris

BNF Site François Mitterrand, Paris.

Boston Public Library.
Bibliothèque Sainte Genevieve, Paris.

See more of Frank Bohbot's libraries, here.

2. Frida Kahlo immortalised on a re-usable tote.

Found on The Telegraph.

3. Inside an unusual mini house carved into coastal rocks in Tenerife...

Found on Dwell.

4. Old-time pot busts in New York City.

Let's take a look back at some marijuana raids around New York City from the 30s, 40s and 50s, a time when the plant was regularly cultivated in private gardens around Brooklyn and Queens.

5. Halloween baking goals.

Found on Pinterest.

6. Giant art installations made out of thousands of sparkling gems.

Suzan Drummen, an artist based in the Netherlands, lays thousands of tiny dazzling crystals and other shiny objects freely on the ground to create elaborate installations that look like textile designs. Amazingly, she doesn’t make a plan for each work, instead she lets each site guide her, checking the light, route of the visitors, the colours, the height etc, on spot. She uses pins to affix the crystal, chrome-plated metal, precious stones, mirrors and optical glass that she uses to walls.

7. Spend the night in a glass bubble.

Attrap Reves' amazing bubble hotel lets you sleep inside... but outside, with all the comforts of a hotel room.

8. 'Arty' chocolate from Mexico.

Mexican chocolate maker, Unelephante, celebrates handcrafted trades and makes colourful chocolate bars, including one that looks like edible crayons and another inspired by artist, Jackson Pollock.

Found on This Is Colossal.

9. THIS!

Found on Pinterest.

10. A rare photo of Marilyn Monroe on a bicycle taken by Avedon, Circa 1958.

11. Meet Lenny, the New Yorker with a mind-boggling collection of vintage cars...

...Even though he doesn't care for driving.
