Meeting your Future Self

Back in 1977, when film maker Stoney Emshwiller was just 18 years old, he interviewed his future self. Sitting in a chair in a dark room, “I asked my older self tons of questions about my
future,” he says. “Then I recorded many different reactions to each possible answer, ranging from polite nods, to joy, sadness, annoyance, surprise, and outright horror.”

This year, aged 56, he sat down to answer them and the result is this hilarious existential and entertaining film, Later That Same Life. He's respectful to his younger self, good-naturedly teases him, wonders whether he met his expectations and whether those expectations were valid…

Worth a watch.
